The most common problem that brings the most discomfort to the client and spoils the look of the work is the sticking of the eyelashes.

Eyelash bonding is the joining by sticking together of two or more natural/artificial lashes.

Sticking of two artificial eyelashes

This type of sticking occurs when an artificial eyelash or a bundle of eyelashes has been placed on one natural eyelash and the next one is immediately placed on the next lash. Since the glue has not yet fully dried, the neighbouring lashes are glued to each other. However, the gluing of two neighbouring artificial lashes can easily be corrected by separating the lashes.

Eyelashes that have ceased to grow can be glued together if one artificial eyelash is glued to two such lashes. Such gluing mainly occurs when an eyelash is separated from the total volume, as these lashes may grow underneath each other and it seems to the craftsman that he has separated only one lash.

It is easy to prevent the occurrence of such adhesions. Care should be taken to ensure that the straight tweezers do not block the view, and that the lashes of the upper row do not block the lower row. Access to the base of the lower lashes should always be open.

Anagen is the growth phase of the hair. As the lashes are still small and weak in this phase, gluing on such hairs can lead to eyelid irritation, pain and most importantly, lash loss or abrupt lash extrusion.

To minimise such sticking, you should first glue the small eyelashes in the growth stage, and then proceed to the already formed ones.

It is recommended to remove the sticking lashes as soon as they have formed, and it is quite easy to do so, as they are immediately visible. However, there is a chance that you may miss it. Therefore, when you have finished, be sure to look through all the lashes and remove the sticky ones. This can be done by gently separating with tweezers, but try not to make the client uncomfortable or damage the natural lash.

If you can’t get rid of the glue, it’s best to use an eyelash remover. A creamy remover is excellent, as it will not smudge and will not damage neighbouring lashes. Carefully pick out the lash clump with straight tweezers, spot apply the remover and detach the lashes after a few minutes.

Sticky lashes can occur if you:

  • Have not combed your lashes. Brushing makes the hairs smooth and also removes loose lashes.
  • Slept on your stomach, rubbing your eyes.
  • Didn’t run a brush over your eyelashes after showering, when the hairs have dried and the glue has hardened.

It’s also important to choose the right lash extensions technician. Glue on eyelashes dangerous, so make sure the professionalism: look at photos of the work, customer reviews, ask for recommendations from your friends.

So, glue on the extensions lead to unpleasant consequences. To prevent them, you should only go to a trusted professional and take proper care of your lashes.
